Oxnard Union High School District’s Extended Day programs are designed to provide after school opportunities to explore four different industry sectors: public service, global trade & logistics, engineering, and automotive technology. We offer a safe and supervised after school environment that provides real-world application, educational enrichment, and industry sector driven programs for students.
Students explore various industry sectors through work-based learning activities that include guest speakers, worksite tours, and an industry-specific curriculum. Students can earn credits toward graduation, complete a certificate of completion, and will have explored career opportunities in each of the programs. Our after-school programs are partnered with the Port of Hueneme, the Oxnard Police Department, NAVSEA Port Hueneme, and the Oxnard Dragg Program.
Career Technical Education (CTE) summer camps are a program of study that combines core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers.
Students are able to explore career technical education courses from various industries relevant to Ventura County. Each camp includes a combination of project-based and work-based learning. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning, have industry mentors, and work in groups with other students.
